AHSCEF ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT

AHSCEF has awarded 9 scholarships for 2011 bringing the amount to 85 scholarships totaling $83,500 to deserving AHS seniors. All of the scholarship presentations have taken place at the annual AHS Dedication Day ceremonies.

Loyal Forever

In 1994, Austin High School alumni created the Foundation to help provide educational opportunities for Austin High School graduates.  The Foundation is chartered to provide assistance to current students who may be at risk of dropping out of school due to financial hardships.  This organization is funded mostly from contributions from individuals throughout our community.  Since 2000, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to many deserving students.  Students may apply for these scholarships for any number of post high school programs – traditional four-year colleges, community colleges, trade schools or professional training programs.

Reviewing the scholarship applications is a very moving experience.  Many of our applicants have overcome significant hardships in their young lives.  We believe that these students are already determined to succeed in life, and we are proud to play a role in helping them along their paths.  The Foundation is strongly committed to helping our youth continue to live their dreams.  This would not be possible without the continued support from fellow alumni who want to contribute to the success of the next generation of Austin High School students.
